You will probably not believe this, but there was only one reason for me to go to Ireland. Egypt. I had heard that early Egyptian monks brought Christianity to those remote outposts of the civilised world. And so I went. And found those Egyptian names like Dysert o’ Dea and Makarios. And saw those ancient Ethiopian prayer sticks on the crosses of Kilfenora. And so I was lost. Oh yes, I did hate it sometimes. That food, those ugly hotels. And yet, I go again and again because there is nothing like crossing over to Skellig Mikael and nothing more exciting than standing on the cliffs of Dun Angus. This must be the place, where the Gods were born…
